I have been a psychotherapist and a coach for the last two decades.

I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients, families and organizations with a variety of mental health concerns and wellness initiatives.

In mental health treatment - my focus has been in the eating disorder field. I learned very early on that ļ¬nding expert eating disorder providers can be very diļ¬ƒcult, whether you are in the US or around the world. This was true when I started a solo practice as well as the years I spent building and expanding an evidence based group practice, whereĀ I have had the privilege to work with many outstanding, committed clinicians serving thousands of families.

The demand for services continues to grow while resources can still be deeply lacking and unprepared.

Many families have limited to no access to specialized eating disorder care.Ā  Insurance coverage can be an issue and so are unprecedented wait times even when the right provider exists nearby.

All of these barriers affect the recovery journey exponentially.

Timely and eļ¬€ective intervention is of the essence and can signiļ¬cantly alter the recovery journey, the toll eating disorders take on every organ in the body, the individualā€™s mental and physical health, their support systems and much more.

And yet, it doesn't have to be that way.Ā Ā Eating disorders do not have to become chronic or fatal.

While it can be heartbreaking to hear stories of adults who have struggled or barely maintained recovery for years, I also know this doesnā€™t have to be the case. I have seen many success stories first hand.Ā  The right resources and systems are life changing.Ā

You can absolutely be successful helping your child with well informed eating disorder recovery plan, and you can start today.

Eating disorder care is often far from simple. Families and caregivers feel lost, anxious, overwhelmed and exhausted, unsure of how to intervene and support their loved one with an eating disorder and how to continue.Ā  Many report starting in a bit of a denial, thinking that "perhaps it's not that bad", "perhaps it's just phase" and regretting they did not know just how crucial timely and evidence based intervention is.Ā  Some have lost precious time working with wrong providers.Ā

This is more common than we think.Ā  Expert knowledge and care are not always easy to find.Ā

Ā

It is why I have created the following resources:
